| Volakas is located in 830 m. altitude. It is 190 km. from Thessaloniki, 36 km. from Drama and 21 km. from Nevrokopi village.There are 870 permanent residents and all of them are indigenous. The ski-resort of Falakro mountain is the most important excursion starting by Volakas. It is one of the best ski-resorts in Greece and has the latest equipment (three chalets, lifts etc.) and exceptional slopes of fluctuant difficulty of 24 km. in total length. Volakas can be the starting point for a tour to the further region of Drama with its splendid forests, beautiful rivers, the glorious post-Byzantine churches, the scenic settlements, the hospitable residents and its multicultural character. |
