Rethymno is the capital city of the prefecture of Crete. Displays many tourists during summer 7000 while the most active students and make the city very lively during the remaining period of time. The population of the city is about 32,694 inhabitants (census 2001). It is the third most populous city in Crete after Heraklion and Chania.
