Patra is located in north-western Peloponnese and
has a population of 250,000 inhabitants. It is the regional capital of western
Greece, as a major port, is the door of Greece to Italy and Western Europe. With
over 50 services ship to Italy every week, virtually all trade of Greece to the
European Union passes from town. The surrounding area is a significant rural
area of Greece producing significant quantities of citrus, potatoes and
watermelons. The area is renowned for its vineyards, and wine is famous

Patras is centrally located and has easy access to
most historical sites in the Peloponnese. In the south is the Olympia, which is
one hour by car. In lies the ancient temple of Apollo who is the best-preserved
in Greece. Just opposite, in Central Greece is Delphi, the most famous oracle of
the ancient world. In the mountains east of Patras is also a city of history
which has an excellent ski resort
