The High Country is a mountainous village in the
prefecture Etoloakarnania. Previously called the Great Lompotina, and renamed in
1930 [1], and was one of the major centers of the mountainous Nafpaktos. Today
is the capital municipality of the population efficiently and according to the
2001 census is 404 residents.
It is built at an altitude of 1,060 meters on the western ends of Vardousia and is one of the villages oreinotera Etoloakarnania. It lies about 52 km from Nafpaktos, which is the nearest big city. |
