Climbing up the National Road from Athens to Lamia, 160 km from the capital, shortly after St. Constantine, found burnt Vourla between the National and the coastal mountains. A bypass, built in recent years, leaving the spa out of the way of a hurry, but we do deserve a break to visit, even for a coffee in one of the many seaside cafes in the area. Very green, many hotels, especially for summer vacations for spa baths, and for seafood, and a sea-side, burnt Vourla claim, together with Edipsos opposite coast of Evia, the interest of elderly tourists. |

Furthermore, Kamena Vourla is very close to archaeological sites and places of historical interest: the historic Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior, built in the 11th-12th century AD, who celebrates on August 6, traditionally treat their donuts, the bridge Gorgopotamos of which blew up in November of'42 from the Greek rebels, near the monument in Thermopylae with Leonidas, the Karia, traditional mountain village of Kamena Vourla municipality, near the High with the spa, and this water, and the Mendenitsa, 28 km from Kamena Vourla, typical mountain village that was created in 1204 AD, where we can see it in good condition Frankish castle. There are also many opportunities for day trips to the islands of Evia and the Sporades. All these make the Kamena Vourla pleasant vacation place or center for campaign trips. Those who monitor the activities of the National Club motor sports know the contribution of the success of the rally in Central Greece. |
