The prefecture of Imathia, is part of the Region of
Central Macedonia, and one of the most dynamically developed prefectures across
Greece. The area is 1,701 tetr.chlm. Consists of 12 municipalities with the
capital Veroia and population estimated at 150,000 inhabitants. The County is
half lowland. The mountain is part of the Pieria mountains Vermio and crosses
the river Aliakmonas, although there are other two major rivers, the Tripotamos
and Arapitsa, crossing the towns respectively Veria and Naoussa. The District is

In Imathia, human plants appear from the prehistoric
